CMM Retrofit is the modernisation of an existing coordinate measuring machine: replacement of control electronics, motorisation, probes and software, while maintaining the mechanical structure (granite, guides, scales). It is worthwhile when the mechanical structure is still in good condition but the controller is obsolete, the software is no longer supported or the machine has lost accuracy due to electronics. A well-executed retrofit typically costs 30–50% of a new machine and extends the CMM's lifespan by 10 to 15 years, with accuracy equivalent to that of new equipment.

Yes. We are an AUKOM partner in Portugal and provide certified AUKOM Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 courses, as well as specific training in GD&T (ISO/ASME) and metrology software. AUKOM certification is internationally recognised by the automotive, aerospace and mould industries, and validates skills regardless of the CMM brand used.

3D scanning captures the actual geometry of the part and delivers a mesh (STL), useful for dimensional inspection, comparison with nominal CAD or digital archive. Reverse engineering goes a step further: it starts from this mesh and reconstructs a parametric CAD model (surfaces, features, solids) that can be edited, reproduced, and used in CAD/CAM. It is essential when the original CAD model does not exist (legacy parts, hand-drawn parts, supplier components).

Yes. Our technical assistance team provides preventive and corrective maintenance, calibration, verification with traceable standards and retrofit services on multi-brand CMMs, including machines not originally sold by us. We cover the entire national territory from our hubs in Alhos Vedros (Head Office), São João da Madeira and Leiria.
